Acne Rosacea

Rosacea is a skin condition of the face, especially the nose and cheeks. Known medically as acne rosacea, it involves enlarged blood vessels giving the nose and cheeks a red, flushed appearance. The nose may become greatly enlarged, the condition known as rhinophyma. It was more commonly known as "grog blossom".

The cause is not fully understood, but it may be associated with eating or drinking irritant foods (including strong tea) or over-indulgence in alcohol.

Rosacea is also caused by exposure to strong winds, constant expoure to heat, as when cooking, and sometimes occurs during the menopause.
