Headaches develop when an acid fermentation takes place in the large colon. A build-up of acid foods, junk food and alcohol along with a congested bowel and poor digestive reactions will result. Also if there is no acidophillus bacilli present in the bowel, fermentation takes place which adds to the reaction. The reflex zone of the transverse colon is the forehead area, hence the headaches.
Parasites may also aggravate a tendency to headaches Take care of this and also go over dietary habits and eliminate acid junk foods. Check for parasites if the headaches recur frequently.
Some types of headaches:
- Headaches in the lower back of the head indicate a lack of Potassium.
- If in the top of the head then there is a lack of Iodine (and Nat Phos - Ed).
- If the forehead is aching along with ringing in the ears then the body lacks Iron.
- Headaches in the afternoon are a lack of Calcium as well as acid fermentation reaction.
- If dizziness occurs with the headaches take Vitamin B complex, B2, C, Niacin, Calcium and Iron.
- Nervous headaches require Kelp, Calcium and Magnesium, plus the No6 (Kali Phos) and No10 (Nat Phos) Biochemic Cell Salts.
- If the headache feels like a tight band round the head, use the homeopathic Spigelia 30c.
- If the headache is associated with nausea, bowel disturbance or alcohol, use Nux Vomica 30c.
- If chemical reaction is known to be the cause, use Thuja 30c - one dose only.
- If the headache is the result of "bad" food, take the antidote homeopathic Carbo Veg.
Check for bowel congestion or fermentation due to the lack of bowel flora. Include acidophillus bacilli in the diet, use natural yoghurt.
Any food that takes oxygen out of the blood will create headaches - eg sugar, coffee, chocolate or alcohol. Combine this with acid foods such as red wine, tomatoes, steak, concentrated fruit juices, and the stomach rebels and the bowel awaits for the undigested foods to ferment. Fermentation means headaches.
The No7 Biochemic Cell Salt (Kali Sulph) feeds oxygen levels in the blood.
Other helpful herbs: White Oak Bark, Butchers Broom: Fenugreek and Thyme (for migraines), White Willow Bark (for pain).
Toxins are also responsible for headaches eg Mercury and Amalgam fillings react with acid foods, creating a vapour.
What To Do
As soon as a headache begins, take No10 (Nat Phos) and No11 (Nat Sulph) Biochemic Cell Salts as directed and drink plenty of water. Take note of the food eaten in the past 24 hours and keep a record and you will find the offending foods.
Dab on Rosemary oil to the forehead or into water to soak the feet. A cool, dark, restful room is needed while healing.
Long-term Strategy
Change your diet to include more alkaline foods, and take less acid fruit. Avoid all junk food, fast foods and chemically prepared foods and alcohol. Vegetarians ar less likely to suffer from headaches than those on a fast food, heavy protein and acid food diet, and they live longer too! If responses to a better diet are slow, go on a bowel cleansing programme, as stored bowel matter may be fermenting. Symptoms are gas, wind, heaviness after eating, bowel movement changes and strong odor from passing bowel matter.
Don't forget to drink plenty of water (not chlorinated).
